Volunteer Bureaux in Broxtowe

There are three Volunteer Bureaux in Broxtowe Borough;- Beeston, Eastwood and Stapleford. We give free, independent advice to anyone living in the Borough who would like to find out about doing voluntary work. We also provide information to the national volunteering database, www.do-it.org.uk which is available for anyone to search to find out about voluntary work opportunities in their area or anywhere in the UK. Organisations needing volunteers can contact us to ask for our help. So, if you are looking for volunteers, or you would like to find out which organisations need help, contact your local Bureau.

The Bureaux also provide a range of other services. There are too many to list here, but some examples are;-

• A car scheme to take people who can't use public transport to the shops, GP's, lunch clubs etc.
• A furniture scheme which collects unwanted furniture in reasonable condition and delivers it free of charge to local people who are unable to buy their own
• A befriending scheme for mainly older people who do not have many visitors
• Training events and a free newsheet for local voluntary organisations

The Bureaux are all registered charities and are funded by Notts County Council, Broxtowe Borough Council, the Big Lottery Fund, charitable trusts, Town and Parish Councils, fundraising events and donations. They are all affiliated to Volunteering England - www.volunteering.org.uk
